- Don’t Forget, Write It Down: Keep a notebook or pad by your desk to write down all the random thoughts that come into your head. “Bring cookies to drop off tomorrow,” or “Call Jane Doe about Property Showing,” or “Start next story with a description of mountains at night…” Random thoughts can be good thoughts, it would be a shame to waste them.
